For over twenty years, Promise Keepers Canada | Impactus has been at the forefront of calling men to follow Jesus Christ, and to be men who will have a godly impact in their families, workplaces, churches, and communities. The history of the ministry has been about seeing men come to us—primarily through our men’s conferences. The future is about expanding our impact and influence by being faithful to Jesus’ command—“Go and make disciples.”
Company History
In 1990, two men in a car on a Colorado highway had a conversation about how to help men lead biblical, fulfilled lives. This conversation soon turned into men’s conferences occurring through America with millions of men being challenged to live with a Christ-centered view of being a man under the brand, Promise Keepers.
A group of Canadian men attended these events and had a desire to launch the same ministry in Canada. After a season of prayer, research, and planning, Promise Keepers Canada was founded in 1995, as the first international expansion of the ministry. The ministry was established as uniquely Canadian with a separate Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Management Team, Staff and ministry plan.
Since its inception, Promise Keepers Canada has been known most for hosting major men’s conferences across the country. These events have allowed us the privilege to speak to tens of thousands of men about being the men God has designed us to be.
In the early 2010’s, our Board of Directors agreed that we wanted to be an organization that was focused on being a ministry more than a movement. In other words, while major events were still important to us, they are not how we wanted to be defined. The spiritual development of men required a more consistent and focused presence and we directed our energy to a variety of ministry programs which were designed to ignite and equip men to have a godly impact.
In 2020, recognizing the growth in the digital world, Promise Keepers Canada re-branded as Impactus, in order to focus more on the online delivery method in order to minister to more men, no matter their location in the world.
