Company Overview

The Purpose of Red Rock Bible Camp:
Red Rock Bible Camp is a year round, interdenominational Christian camp that exists to make and grow disciples of Christ. This is accomplished through eight weeks of summer camp, approximately twenty-five to thirty weekend church retreats and an outdoor education program that serves twenty-five to thirty school groups annually. Red Rock Bible Camp is a member of Christian Camping International and an accredited member of the Manitoba Camping Association.

The focal point of the summer program is evangelism, discipleship and Christian education of children and youth with an emphasis on growth in the spiritual, mental, physical and social aspects of their lives. Our mission is to, “Provide Christ centered discipleship every camping day in every camping way.”

Weekend retreats provide opportunities for Christian church and para-church organizations to get away from the daily distractions of life for a weekend of physical, social and spiritual renewal.

Red Rock Bible Camp is also interested in the education of children and youth in the public school system. The camp seeks to assist classroom teachers in enriching the curriculum by providing outdoor and social aspects of a resident camp experience with an emphasis on preserving the environment. These programs also introduce students to our summer camp program which are from four to six day camp sessions.

Company History

For several years in the early 1940's, a group called the Steinbach United Young People had been going to outlying districts in south-eastern Manitoba to hold meetings. This developed into an organization for boys and girls called The Christian Endeavour Society. It was directed by George K. Reimer and met during the summer at the Steinbach Bible Institute. From that ministry, the idea of a Bible Camp was formulated, and in the summer of 1946, a group of men set out to look for a site. After looking at several places, they chose the spot where the camp now stands. Each person was convinced that God had led them to that spot.
In the spring of `47 with the help of several men from Landmark and Steinbach, construction began. The first building was the kitchen and dining room which also served as a chapel and recreation building.

Since its beginning, the camp has grown and flourished. Its programs include eight weeks of summer camp, weekend retreats and an outdoor education program that together bring over 4,000 guests to the site each year. The most important, though less apparent area of growth, has been the spiritual impact in the lives of thousands of youth and adults over the years of Red Rock's existence.
From a handful of campers and staff in 1947, growth has been steady. Red Rock, geared to operate year round can now accommodate 150 people, including staff. With the beautiful natural resources of the rugged, limitless Canadian Shield, Red Rock is rooted deeply in God's Word and is committed to the discipling of all who come to the camp.
